Nancy Reagan Isn’t Firing On All Cylinders

Official Portrait of President Ronald Reagan

I honestly cannot believe that Nancy Reagan has given her endorsement to Mitt Romney.  I understand they are both Republicans and all, however, Romney is of the era of new Republicans who are not required to have a brain or a conscience.  Even as a Liberal I respected Ronald Reagan as President and honestly, I do not think he would have cared for Romney, or any of the GOP candidates that we saw during this campaign.

Nancy Reagan made a statement about Romney’s “strong principles.”  Exactly which principles is she referring to here?  His love of big corporations?  His hatred for the homosexual population of the country he want to be President of?  His complete disrespect for women?  I am honestly hoping that Alzheimer’s is something that can be passed between married people and Nancy caught it from Ronald and that is the reason behind this endorsement.

Actually, I do not know why I am getting so worked up over this–its not like Romney stands a chance of winning come November, not with his stance on the issues.  We all know that Obama will get a second term, the democrats will take over Congress, as well as those states doing elections, and we will see some actual change come about.

Why Do Women Vote Republican?

Posted by Jimi on May 7, 2012

Honestly, I am really curious about this one.  We have all seen the news stories where various members of the GOP are constantly insulting women and want to throw them back into the kitchen, preferably with no shoes and knocked up six ways to Sunday.  Why would women want to vote for a person that does not have their best interests in mind?

I really am at a loss here, Republicans are creating all these laws, or attempting to, in affect to outlaw abortion.  Allowing doctors to lie about the result of an ultrasound?  Withholding information from a pregnant women because it could lead to an abortion?  And what about this crap about being pregnant two weeks before conception?

Don’t kid yourself ladies, if the Republicans had their way they would take away your vote, get rid of equality in the workplace, ban birth control and make you carry a baby to term regardless of your feelings or health risks.

Voting Republican, at least this current crop, is a foolish move for anyone, especially for women.  The only thing Republicans care about are appeasing the corporations that buy their elections, building up the military and getting re-elected.  I am not saying the Democratic party does not have its own faults, Lord knows they do, but at least they have a vested interest in the personal rights of the people.

So, I am interested now–if any of the women that read my blog do vote Republican, tell me why, I honestly want to see your reasoning.

I Guess You Can Go To Far Rush Limbaugh

Posted by Jimi on March 2, 2012

It would appear that Rush Limbaugh is beginning to learn the same lesson that Glenn Beck did, you can go to far with a fat mouth.  I am going on the assumption that by now everyone has read or heard about the incident with Sandra Fluke, if not you can read up on it on that link I am not going to rehash everything here.  What I do want to talk about is the online effort that is now in progress to get Limbaugh’s advertisers to pull their support from him.  I think this is a great idea and I truly hope it succeeds.  I can remember listening to Rush back in the 90′s and thinking “Okay, he make some sense”, but now he is just a loud mouth moron.  Like so many others he apparently has not learned the lesson of the power of the internet and just what people can do when they put their minds to it.

I really do not understand the GOP war against women at all, it makes no sense in this modern age.  Are they purposely trying to lose the presidency and any position in Congress, is that their agenda?  Because it sure seems like that is what they are up to and by not distancing themselves from people like Limbaugh and Fox News in general they are only hurting their cause further.

This is all such a joke for Limbaugh, he apparently does not take any of this seriously at all.  Unless of course a republican was in the White House, then it would be a different story.  I find that mysterious package that arrived at Limbaugh’s gate to be way to convenient and then to find out it was a plaque commemorating Boothe assassinating Lincoln is just revolting.  Look, as much as I hate Limbaugh I do not wish any ill on him, I do not want anyone to kill him, I just simply want him off the airwaves, out of the press and just to disappear into whatever mist it is Tea Baggers go into.

Look folks, we are all in this fight called humanity together.  It is time to stop trying to control one another because of race, creed, gender, sexual orientation or whatever…  I have said it before and I am stating it again, we need to come together as a species or we are truly doomed.  Let go of the hatred (or is it jealousy) and let’s move on to making this entire world a better place to live.
